Thank you for visiting my website. Although originally designed as a means of keeping in touch with family and friends as we travel here and there, I warmly welcome all readers. Postcards From Here and There was only conceived in late 2017 as a means of documenting life and travels following retirement. With a big trip to New Zealand and Australia planned for 2018 the time felt right to try my hand at writing and maintaining a blog.
Postcards were a regular feature of life at home in the summer when I was growing up. Family, friends and neighbours would always send a snapshot back home of their annual holiday. The sending of postcards has declined over the years and I can no longer remember the last time we received one. It seems appropriate that this blog should be the digital equivalent of a postcard home.
I have tried to ensure that all the information on the site is accurate and up to date at the time of writing but mistakes can happen. Should this be the case please contact me and I will endeavour to put things right.
